Poetry Course
|
The 3rd Muse Poetry Course is designed to run over a period of three weeks. The basic course outline you will find below is a rough guide, and is aimed at beginner to intermediate students. Since all communication is carried out on a one to one basis, each course will be tailored accordingly with a given student's ability, experience, weaknesses and strengths. All communication will be carried out via email, with the aim being approximately one email exchange between teacher/student per 24 hour period. This is intended to work as best solution to global time differences, as this course is open to anybody in the world. Additionally, this insures that any work assignments or exercises may be carried out at a time which the student finds to be most convenient for them. The course will not be dealing with academic aspects of poetry such as various technical forms (as this information is readily available to anyone with an interest from various textbooks, or, indeed, "google"); rather, the aim of the course is to bring out the student's best writing and to put them on the right course to improving their writing into the future. To gain better understanding of what poetry is and what is required of them to communicate themselves through poetry efficiently. The outline of the course is as follows: Week 1: FOCUS:
Week 2: FOCUS:
Week 3: FOCUS:
The course will be run by Mark Melton, editor of 3rd Muse Poetry Journal. The cost of the course is $300(USD), payable via Paypal. Please contact mmelton@3rdmuse.com for payment instructions. At the outset of the course the student is required to submit five poems to be used as basis for evaluation of their current ability, as well as initial guide as to their particular needs. Any additional queries may be directed to mmelton@3rdmuse.com.
